Cut Edge Corrosion
DriSilane RePair is designed to treat and protect the weather side of cut edge of structurally sound profiled steel rood sheeting.
DriSilane® RePair adopts the industry standard specification to retard this progression at the sheet edge, and by encapsulating of the end-lap to exclude and prevent water being held, where it can trigger reverse side corrosion.
Sheet edge corrosion can arise due to normal weathering. Its progression corresponds with contact with water. When its reached the purlin fixing, sheet replacement is required.
End laps are always weather sealed from new, with factory applied or site installed systems, and are never designed to release condensation, channel rainwater or ‘breathe’.
Encapsulating of the end lap is designed to arrest further corrosion by eliminating capillary held water.
In adopting this treatment it is understood that installed roof components and seals remain effective. Any weaknesses may be addressed by the targeted use of DriSilane® ReSeal.
